5 year Old Slang

Okay Macie will be 6 in 2 weeks and this is what she told me Friday when I picked up from school..
I asked her how her day was and she says............................
IT WAS OFF THA HOOK!!!!!!
What?!
Where is learning how to talk like that? She's turning 6, not 16..

Boys will be boys

I'll try not to make this a long story, so here we go:

When we built our house a little over a year ago we didn't build porch steps, b/c Jason wanted to build a deck. I wasn't crazy about a deck, so in the meantime Jason built some temporary steps. *It's not that I don't like decks, I just think if your going to build a deck you should make it big and fancy.

So he decided to make some steps from some leftover rock we used on our house, which looked fine - but he HATED them..So we're going to have some regular patio steps made (or whatever you call it)...

Jason busted up his homemade steps and again built temporary ones basically so our dog could get on and off the patio..

Well yesterday the kids were playing outside and I heard a loud crash, so I looked out the window and Austin is covering his mouth crying hysterically.

Somehow they took the steps apart..When I ask them "who did it"? Eli says Austin, Macie says Eli and when you ask Austin if he did it he shakes his head "no". I think Eli was behind it all, but I didn't see it and have no proof, so I really can't punish him. I'm not surprised b/c they take everything apart. Jason found about a dozen car/tractor/trailer tires hidden behind their t.v. last night..I guess taking things apart is a boy thing..

Jason was so pissed about the steps that he said he's not making anymore, so poor Bud has to step on a chair to get on & off the porch..

Who Will He Pick?

Okay I'm not a fan of The Bachelor, but did watch one show while I was sick. It was the one where the 4 remaining girls took him to their hometowns. I've been reading the blogs and comments on facebook and it seems no one likes Molly. Why? Just curious..

Mardi Gras

Saturday night we went to a Mardi Gras party with a group of friends and let me tell you - St Boniface knows how to party..They had all you could eat Cajun food, beer & margaritas. Live and silent auctions, poker tables and a DJ..We had a blast!!! I have to admit I had my first 2 jello shots EVER (thanks to Dan) and they were at a church function..hahahaha Sad I know, but I've never been "The Party Animal"..I was people watching the whole night and that was quite entertaining!! And I won a pedi from the silent auction, thanks to Jason..woo-hoo..I feel sorry for whoever gets to work on my feet..NOT PRETTY!! Here's some pics from our night..

Dinner Conversation

Here's our dinner conversation tonight with Macie.
Macie: Do you have to get married to have babies?
me: O YES!! That's the rules!!
Macie: Well Aunt Amy is married and doesn't have any kids.
me: Well just b/c your married doesn't mean you have to have kids.
Macie: Well I'm never having kids.
me: WHAT?! WHY!
Macie: I don't want kids whining in my ear!!!
me: hahahahahahahaaaaa, yeah I don't blame ya..

Poor girl!! Having twin brothers is going to scar her for life.. Austin will be the one who has a ton of kids...He's going to be "The Family Man"..

Short Story:
Today as I'm picking Macie up from school, I see a little boy hanging outta the car window. Immediately the boys see him and start making this annoying sound (something like this - eeeeeeeeeeeeeee) and pointing at the boy laughing their ass off..I have no idea what they were saying or doing, but whatever it was they were enjoying themselves..I finally told them to KNOCK IT OFF.. I could hear the mom inside the car asking her son if he saw my animals. I knew she could hear them laughing at her son..They were like wild animals after an escape from the zoo..

Day Two of The Couch to 5K Running Plan

I'll spare you guys from reading about my depressing exercise soga, so this will be my last post about it. Last night around 9pm I was killing myself or trying to anyways..I had a hard time last night-I guess cause I really didn't want to do it and I was tired..The workout isn't even that hard YET..I'm not really sore but my legs are restless and achy. I'm not sure I'll ever like running, ugh.

I do have a little tip to share with you. I always hate streaks on mirrors/windows after you clean them. Last week my dad told me about a little trick that he heard from somewhere. I tried it last week on my mirrors and yesterday on my car windows and IT WORKED - NO STREAKS. Instead of using paper towels use coffee filters..Crazy, I know. But it worked for me.

The Couch-to-5K Running Plan

I've had a treadmill for about 2 months now and use it regularly but can never build my endurance up to anything worth mentioning. On my way to take Macie to school today I heard about this running plan on B98, so I'm going to try it. Tonight was my first night and I could actually handle it..I usual don't stick to routines like this, but I'm going to try.

Tonight I had to walk for the first 5 minutes, alternate 60 seconds of jogging and 90 seconds of walking for a total of 20 minutes.

The Nerds DID IT!

Remember me mentioning in an earlier post that Macie's tooth is loose..Yeah well not anymore!! Her tooth came out tonight as she was eating some nerds. It came out w/o her knowing so thank God she didn't swallow it..She said she chewed on it for a second - hahaha She's screaming with excitement, I'm sad she lost her tooth and Eli was crying b/c he thought something bad had happened- hahahahaa You ask me why I'm sad and it's just another reminder that she's getting older and older..I wished she could stay this age forever!! :0(
So the tooth fairy gets to make her way to our house tonight..Fun, fun!! I remember all those memories as a child..Kinda hard to tell a tooth is missing, but you get the picture.

Today was also Macie's Valentine Party at school..As usual, it was a huge success and a blast..The little boy that sits next to Macie think she's "HOT", according to his momma - hahhaha..He's a cute little boy too..Couldn't ask for a better personality.

A Sketch-UPDATED

I have been patiently awaiting the sketch of my kids and I finally got it tonight and I LOVE IT!! Jason works with a guy whose daughter was trying to earn money to go to basketball camp. She's 15 and obviously can draw. Needless to say she met her goal and is going to camp...I can't wait to frame this picture!! I can't keep from looking at it..The picture Jason gave her was our Christmas card picture..She did an amazing job!!

*When the kids woke up this morning I showed them their picture and all of them were amazed, but what's funny is when I asked both boys if they knew who was who they both pointed to the other one - hahahaha..Surely they know what they look like?

I'm dying to ask the artist if she thinks they look alike, since she drew their faces..I can tell the differences of each boy in the sketch..

Normalcy

Real short post here. Austin and I have had the dreadful stomach bug. I'm better, but Austin is going on his 2nd day of vomiting..Remind you the last time the boys had this it lasted for 10 days..horrible, horrible

Quick story then have to go....
Macie has been DYING to lose a tooth. If she only knew that a lot of blood was involved she'd change her mind..I know after the first pulled tooth she won't want the others to come out..Anyways, she's eating breakfast this morning and the biggest smiles spreads across her face and she says "mom I just bit down on something hard and my tooth is loose"! I'm like WHAT! She was eating a doughnut folks, so what could be hard in a doughnut? Well I'll tell you - HER FREAKING FORK!!! She bit down on her fork and sure enough her tooth is loose - hahahahaha She couldn't be happier!

I want my normal (as I know it), boring life back!!!!!!!!!!!!!

A Fun Night

Well tonight was sorta eventful. We received outstanding news on Macie's grades last night, so we told her she could have a toy as a reward for her hard work. She picked a huge turtle at Sam's. The turtle is as big as her, no lie. I sat in the car at Sam's with the boys as Jason and Macie went inside. When they came out all I saw was a turtle walking besides Jason. It was THE funniest thing I'd seen in awhile. I laughed and laughed..

Austin wanted his picture taken with his baby that he stole from Macie. Since his baby is the ugliest looking thing -we named her Nappy, but the boys call her Nap nee..So this is his "I'm a bad ass holding a baby face..

Jump Rope for Heart

Today was Macie's school held a little fund raiser for the American Heart Association. This was only the 2nd year to involve the kindergartners. Instead of jumping rope the whole entire time they had 5 different stations to complete in 9 minutes. It was hectic, but very fun. Macie raised $155 and will be entered into a drawing for a trip to Disney (come on Mickey, pplleeasssse pick us)..Thanks to everyone that sponsored Macie. Macie jumped rope in honor of her late great grandpa Maurice Sharum, and her great grandma Kay..Today she made a difference for someone and I'm proud of her for that..

*Tonight is parent/teacher conference night, so I'll have some pictures of Macie's work to post.

My Favorite Dessert

I like to collect recipes, so when I see one in a book, or off a box I tear it out and keep it. I mean I'm looking at an old McCormick Taco seasoning packet as I'm typing this post, I know your asking yourself "why"? And the answer to that is- Is because it has a Seven Layer Fiesta Dip on the back - that I've never tried btw..I'm also looking at a Philadelphia cream cheese box hahahahahahaha..Here again, I kept the box for a Fruit Smoothie Cheesecake recipe that like the fiesta dip I haven't tried..Anyways, back to my favorite dessert. I came across this recipe from the side of the Duncan Hines brownie mix box. The recipe is called Rocky Road Brownies...And man are they good. I made some last night and boy o boy...They're super easy.
Just make the brownies like the box says (I make fudge brownies instead of cake-like)
Mix 1 cup of mini marshmallows and 1 cup of walnuts in with the chocolate icing then spread that on top of the brownies and there you have it..Now they are very rich, but o so good..I'm sure I'll gain like 100lbs this week.. ;0D

I'm always looking for some fun, creative and easy lunch recipes for my kids, so if you have any let me know. They get tired of the same ole same ole..I mean there is just so many chicken nuggets, hot dogs and pb&j sandwiches a kid can eat.

Unwelcome House Guest

We had two unwelcome house guest this weekend.
1) named pneumonia
2) named vomiting

Macie woke up Saturday morning crying that her chest & belly hurt (which is so unlike her. she's usually a bundle of joy ALL THE TIME). Long story short - took her to the doctor which diagnosed her to have slight pneumonia. The vomiting started on the way home from the doctor - not sure why. I don't think it was the dreaded "stomach bug", but will soon find out. Of all nights the boys slept with Macie Friday night. Macie is just about back to normal, so I'm thankful for that..I'm hoping for a better week.
