The Best Yet

Macie played the best basketball game of her life yesterday. Of course there was some incentive involved, but it worked. She was dead all first half, but came ALIVE in the second. The incentive was a $1 for any offensive or defensive move. Her first point the ref was in my way, but it was a side shot, with girls all over her and nuthin but the net, baby.....She then swats the ball away from the girl she's guarding. Her next move is her first rebound of the season, then scores. This is the video. The video starts after she got the rebound (turn down your volume, for the obvious).

With less than a minute left she STEALS THE BALL, DIBBLES DOWN AND SCORES. Again nuthin but the net. I had two freakin cameras and miss this. I can't understand how that happened. So her total dollar amount came to $9.

Bowling

Here we are bowling for the first time. Not WII bowling, real bowling. The kids loved it at first, but the mood slowly dwindled. The kid balls were still too heavy for the boys. Macie did alright, bowled a strike and decided that was where her b-day party will be this year. I won of course!

Big Ear

For the past week now Austin's been dealing with a severe ear canal infection. Poor guy was in pain for several days and after taking two antibiotics orally and antibiotic drops for his ear he's finally feeling a little better. However, the inside of his ear still looks milky and his ear is sensitive to touch. I foresee a ENT visit in our near future. Here's a picture of his good ear.

Correction

Well here is Eli's face piece he has to wear at night to help correct his under bite. The orange things sticking out are cut up bandannas. They told us the pads on the chin and forehead will chap and break out his skin - which it has a little. I've fixed the problem, though. It now looks and feels better to him. Poor guy doesn't like wearing this. He's very embarrassed by the whole deal, but he's doing awesome with it during the night.

He has a retainer in his mouth. The rubber bands hook onto the retained and mouth piece. I'm hoping this works b/c the alternative doesn't sound good.

I guess Macie's mouth is next..

We had a very exciting surprise waiting for us when we got home Wednesday night. Samantha returned home after a very short, quick visit from the hospital. As promised she's good as new.

The hospital form said to expect 2-3 weeks for your doll to be returned. Macie asked every day about Samantha and I would tell her maybe she'll be home around Valentine's Day. I never expected she'd be gone a total (including shipping) of 8 days.

Even though she knew we didn't buy a new American Girl she wasn't quite sure what to expect.

Chuck E's first skating confession

The boys went to their 1st "friend" bday party. It was at Chuck E Cheese, which they've never been cause of the germs..hahahahahahahahaaaaa To keep them from being labeled as "the weird kids" we had to let them go. And of course they loved it!! Eli's face lit up as we walked in and him and Austin both loved playing all the games. Eli really got into Chuck E Cheese as well. He even honked Chuck E's nose- hahahahahaaaa. Like I said he was PUMPED UP. Austin on the other hand wasn't all that impressed with the mouse (Jason's son).

Macie also had her 1st confession this Saturday, which she wasn't sure about but did fine.

Macie had her first skating party today. She's never skated a day in her life. She went from totally hating it to totally lovin it. And yes I skated as well. It's been 20+ years, but I gave it a whirl and will probably regret it in the morning.
Towards the end she even tried by herself and did pretty good.

Back to the North Pole

When Pixie arrived at our house I had 3 scared to death little kids, but now as she leaves for the North Pole I have 3 very sad little kids. They have thoroughly enjoyed her over the past few weeks and will be sad to wake up in the morning with no one to look for. Pixie left a note and it read:
Dear Sharum's
It's been fun living at your house for the past few weeks. I've had a blast playing with you guys. All 3 of you are very awesome kids. Stay good! Santa is very proud of you.

Macie - Good luck with basketball. Keep your eyes on the ball and your arms up. Get on those girls and stay on them.

Austin & Eli - Good luck with t-ball. Be patient with your swing and keep your eyes on the ball.

The elves and I will be cheering for you at the North Pole as we look down upon you.
Have a wonderful new year and always try your best. Have fun with everything you do.

What's Pixie Been Up too

Here's what our elf Pixie has been up to since Friday night.

Day 1:

Macie found her at the top of our tree. Took them awhile to find her but they finally did. Macie was beyond excited. Pixie was and still is talk of the house. Macie's still full of questions, like how did she get to the top of the tree w/o knocking off the ornaments? My response was maybe she flew and that opens another can of questions. haha

Day 2:

Pixie had a good time with Macie's American Girl Dolls.

Pixie was decked out in her cowgirl vest and boots. Needless to say the kids LOVED this.

Last night Pixie found her way on top of our bedroom t.v. She may have to go 4-wheel'n tonight in the boys room.

Since Jason wasn't home when Pixie arrived Macie is suspicious he had something to do with it. Jason was gone for a while this evening and Austin says he hopes another elf doesn't arrive - haha. He's not scared anymore, he says..Apparently Macie has been talking about our elf at school cause she wants me to email it to her best friends mom so she can see it :0)

Our Magic Elf, Pixie

Tonight we were watching Polar Express and it was towards the end when the train had stopped at the North Pole and the children and elves were waiting on the arrival of Santa. Well I knew our magic elf was coming tonight so I casually said "I've heard of elves visiting peoples homes". Austin said he hopes one doesn't come to our house cause he'd be scared and he kept his word. Our elf arrived with the sound of the doorbell, which Jason wasn't home and the rule is for us not to answer the door when he's gone, so Austin got scared when I was gonna open the door anyways. Macie was/is so confused, she was firing about a million questions about the elf and said she's gonna have a good story to tell her class Monday..Eli's neutral in the whole deal. He knows Santa sent the elf and is kinda on the fence about everything else. I hope they warm up to our elf Pixie Sugarplum, I have some wonderful and fun ideas..She's 141 years old which Macie just can't believe..Why is she so little, how'd she get here, where'd she come from, how is she gonna write with a normal sized pencil, does she really come to life at night, etc, etc, etc

Today we celebrated Eli being Student of the month. YAY Eli.. Of course, I forgot my camera in my car and my phone memory was full. I was rapidly trying to delete some pictures before the principal got done.

I can honestly say I'm glad November is gone. Just about the whole month has been one stomach bug after another. Hoping December is better.

Samantha

As Christmas is getting closer I've been asking the kids what they want. And the answers are "everything". They don't get out and shop, so they have no clue what kind of toys are out there, they are typical kids and want everything they see on tv. Seems like every Christmas Macie has been getting one of the American Girl Dolls. I asked her this year if she'd like Santa to bring her one and she says "yes, she wants Samantha". Well after searching for Samantha I learn she was one of the four first American Girls and is now retired. Automatically Ebay pops into my head. And as expected those dolls are double the original amount because she's retired (and no they don't come out for retirement like the Disney movies). I did in fact find one that was gently "used" to say the least. I rescued a "Samantha" after she was attacked by a dog and lost her fingers. After Christmas, she will spend some time at the hospital especially for the dolls and get her fingers fixed. Macie doesn't think I can find one, but little does she know Samantha and a wheelchair will be waiting for her under the tree come Christmas morning. I love this story, it's so much better than the "Santa brought me another AG doll"..Once at the hospital, she'll get a new arm, a good cleaning, her hair will be all brushed and she will arrive in a hospital gown and arm band. Other than the fingers issue she's in good shape. Her hair was quite a mess, but I did manage to get it brushed out. I have a new outfit waiting for her and I know the other girls will love her :0) No more dog attacks! I'll keep you updated on this developing story.

Thanksgiving 2010

Here's my beautiful girl! She wrote the best essay paper on what she's thankful for. She's such an awesome person. She always tries to do the right thing and is always thinking of others.

Macie's class put on a reading theatre for us parents. Each child read a line from the story. Everyone did such a good job!

Here's my Indians at their feast. They made homemade butter the other day and got to eat it today on their rolls.

One Turkey Places

Turkeys in Disguise

A few weeks ago when Eli was in the hospital, Austin brought home a homework assignment that was to disguise your turkey so he wouldn't be eaten for Thanksgiving. We decided to wait until Eli got to feeling better before attempting to work on the assignment. Weeelllll, the weekend before the assignment was due we start working on it and Austin gets sick with the stomach bug. He got to start it, but Macie and Eli had to finish it. He wasn't feeling good in this picture. Eli was dead set on making his turkey look like his "big bear", which turned out pretty good considering it didn't start off very well. Austin originally wanted his as a horse but with Jason gone I had no idea how to do that, so luckily he changed his to a snowman, which turned out awesome as well. Supposedly these will be judged by their principal, so I'm hoping they win. They're are some good ones, though..

O and I have to mention the making of Austin's snowflakes were a b!t*h....

After spending the night in the hospital, Eli is very glad to be home along with his brother and sister. Eli has had the stomach bug for 6 days and finally got hydrated. He's feeling much better, but still has a ways to go before normalcy. Today Austin brought home some get well letters from their classmates, which were adorable and amazingly sweet. Most said "I love you, Eli", "Get Well Soon, Eli", "I like you, Eli", but my favorite was "I like you, Eli. I love your mom"...lol....I've never even spoken to the boy, but I'm a fan. HOW FREAKIN SWEET IS THAT!

Today was a busy, but fun day for my kids. The boys went on a field trip to the pumpkin patch, then lunch at the park. Followed up by a party in their classroom with cupcakes, crafts and goody bags. Macie also had her Halloween Party also. Much more on Macie in the next post.

This month Austin was chosen "Student of the Month". Here Austin is with our wonderful principal.

Here's my boy. Don't let this picture fool you, though. I had to beg for this smile. He doesn't like a lot of attention drawn to himself.

I took Macie's pumpkin to school today and it was a HUGE hit. Girls out in the hall were all talking about it as I walked by and Macie's teacher loved it. We brought our "A Game" today :0) In all fairness there were some good ones, but nothing like ours (of course). Just kidding.............kinda.......................

Pumpkin Decorating Contest

Macie's class and a few others are having a pumpkin decorating contest representing their favorite book character. Macie picked the book "Pinkalicious". I've fixed her ponytails since these pictures so they stick out a little more. I'm hoping Macie wins!!

Macie's class is doing an author study of Patricia Polacco and one of the books they're reading is "The Keeping Quilt" by Patricia Polacco - who is phenomenal btw!. Her class is constructing a quilt from construction paper with each square representing a student. I can't wait to post Macie's.

Again, Eli played Mondays game w/0 his brother and played amazingly. The boy was so fast it was ridiculous! See Eli at the very back and notice 3 orange shirts ALL AROUND. It was like this every time Eli played. Don't ask me where the rest of the team was.

Now he's bigger than me, stronger than me, and he's older than me, and stronger than me, and his arms are a little bit longer than me. (I pulled these lyrics from a JB song featuring Jaden Smith.)

Macie played in a jamboree this weekend for a charity event and scored her first goal of the season. It's tougher this year because there is a goalie and it's 8 vs 8 AND it's coed. I took one picture of her breaking out (which is what she does), then I have the ball going past the goalie (who was a boy) then I have this picture.

It's a miracle I have the 3 pictures that I have because if you know me, you know that I was yelling my loudest (which is loud) and jumping up and down cheering. And to top it all off Macie says she only hears Jason cheering for her. WHAT!? I'm making a fool of myself and I'm by far louder than Jason. hmpf!

On another note - Austin has hurt his foot and probably won't be able to play soccer for awhile.

2nd Soccer Game Together

First Soccer Game Alone

Austin had to play his first soccer game w/o his brother. Eli was left home sick and brokenhearted.

Austin scored twice. The picture below was right after he scored his 1st goal.

Austin did very well. He fought a long hard fight against some taller boys. When he came home he even gave Eli one of his treat tickets. Such a sweet boy!

Eli is well and ready to go for the next game. Go Sharum's!

I subscribed to the Kids National Geographic for my kids and we've received 2 issues so far and I LOVE THEM! I've been so busy reading them I haven't even shared with the kids yet. For example: If you lined up all the eyelashes a person loses in a lifetime, the hairs would stretch the length of 10 crocodiles.

1st Field Trip

The boys can "officially" say this is their 1st field trip. YAY! The boys have 3 guy friends that they talk about constantly, so that's awesome they have friends like big sis.

Macie was there at the same time, so I was back and forth.

This was one of the shows the kids watched..I forget this dudes name. Cool, though.

I had the wrong bus when the boys arrived so I was able to get a picture of Eli boarding the bus going back to school. Eli has an aisle seat, so look close.

1st Day

Today my dear, sweet babies started kindergarten. Time has literally flown by. To me they shouldn't be old enough to start school. Not sure what's up with their faces, but they're still cute. Jason hates their hair being fixed. Which for the record I had 3 to do this morning (and I was glad I didn't have 3 girls) lol

All 3 ready to go.

Here's the "Eli picture smile" Macie is such a good sister. She gave him a hug before we left this morning. Being a big sister isn't always easy, but she does an awesome job. Both boys told me all the way to school that they were gonna miss me today. That's very hard to hear when your trying your hardest not to cry :0)

I think Austin was more excited than he looks, probably nervous which is expected..

From what I could pulled out of them they had a great day. They didn't like the celery or carrots at lunch, but loved the chocolate milk. Their teacher said they had an awesome day and I also heard they did awesome in the cafeteria today - which calms my fears tremendously.

The next couple of weeks they'll be learning/reviewing their colors. Tomorrow they're supposed to wear something red. And stay tuned for what Macie can almost do by herself.

Baseball Sunday

This morning was Baseball Sunday at church. All baseball players were asked to wear their jerseys to church and afterwards they had a slide show, goodies and giveaways. They gave out 6 gifts. The last was a $25 gift card to Academy. And the winner is......................

I think Austin was a little disappointed but Eli had his back. Eli told him he'd share.
The whole ceremony was awesome, including the slide show. Jason even had to speak out about his team. I would have died or faked a stroke or something to keep from speaking in front of a crowd, but he did an awesome job..

1st Place or Close

Today the boys had their 1st group soccer practice. Both boys did good, and at the end they had a race. From my view Eli won, but not for sure. He either won 1st or 2nd out of around 60ish kids. Austin got caught up in traffic and not sure where he finished. Honestly I didn't even see Austin. I had my eyes on Eli. At first he was in the top 5, so I was thinking to myself "O he's doing good", but after he tagged one of the coaches hands he took off. Then I was thinking "holy crap" he might win. Then I heard other parents yelling for their kids and people have never known me to be the "quiet type" so I started yelling and lost all perspective. I thought he won, but Jason wasn't for sure. The other child he was neck and neck with was an "almost relative". hahahaha I know your thinking "what is an "almost relative"? Too long of a story to explain, but the "almost relative" is fast, so I'm proud of Eli. I know Austin would have be neck in neck too if he'd had the chance. I told him after the race "you just have to bust through the slow pokes" :0)

An Unforgettable 1st Day of School

Macie had an unforgettable 1st day of 2nd grade. They actually had a fire at school. Not sure on all the details but I've heard it was electrical. Had to evacuate the building and all. Of course the electricity was off in the school and was pitch black when I went to pick her up. I'm sure this was a teacher's nightmare. lol!!

When I tucked Macie into bed tonight she told me they had to write some things about themselves to help their classmates to get to know them better. sigh . (Remember the letter I wrote to Macie today and me saying I could write a book on things she needs to know. Well I SHOULD HAVE WROTE THAT BOOK). For example, one of the questions was: Name one thing your really good at? Macie's response: bugging my brothers. really?! This could have been an endless option of answers. Macie's good at everything and "bugging her brothers" was her first thought. Geez! Oh - wait! It gets better. Here's another question. What do you like to do at home? Macie's response: Clean (lol) the counter tops. what?! are you joking! Who says that?! For the record she's done that like once or twice. I'm sure her teacher thinks I have "great" parenting skills. Here again her options were endless and she chose cleaning. O well, it made me laugh.

Just Not Ready

Tomorrow is Macie's 1st day of school. I'm a little sad she won't be with me during the day, but she is besides herself with excitement. Her teacher gave the parents a piece of paper and wanted us to write our children a letter for the first day of school. I could have wrote a book of course. It's hard to tell them how much you love them, remember your manners and to do your very best on just a few lines. But I'm really not ready for the boys to go to school..

This was my birthday cake - lol...Remember we were celebrating my birthday, so I got a cake and we were also celebrating the kids either going back to school or starting school. Sorry I haven't blogged in a long time. My computer has had some problems and we've been busy with school orientations. All 3 kids love their new upcoming teachers. The boys got in the same class, which I'm very thankful for. It's going to be a new, exciting, but heart breaking time in the next couple days. I believe everyone is ready nonetheless.
Here's an interesting fact for ya. All 3 kids were the exact same height upon entering kindergarten. Funny when you think of it b/c the boys started out so small.

I had the bright idea of trying to take my kids pictures with their new baby cousin Henry. For the most part everyone did good, but my kids have a hard time giving me a genuine smile on cue. Eli had some freakish smile with bugged out eyes goin on and I've never laughed so hard in my entire life while looking back through the pictures. I'm not a photogenic person either so I can't talk too much. You know when my boys have had enough when they look like they do in the pictures below. Pay attention to Austin's eyes. Funny thing is both boys did the exact same thing at the exact same time. How do they know to do that?

Venturing Out

This is gonna be a long one, so get comfortable. Yesterday we went to a popular Oklahoma lake just to see if it was better than where we usually go - and it was rough as promised. So here's the story of our day. After driving around for a bit Jason and the kids go swimming. I'm not a big lake swimmer, so I'm laying out in the boat. All of a sudden Jason feels something pinching him and thinks it's Austins silly bands grabbing his arm hair. As he's asking Austin if he's pinching/scratching him he feels it again on his legs and basically freaks out - thrashing around in the water - loudly saying "GET OUT OF THE WATER". It might as well have been JAWS in the water cause that's how we were acting - yanking kids out by their life jackets. lol. So you know I'm NOT getting in the water now no matter how hot it gets! Jason finally decided it was perch eating away at him. So we drive around some more and come to some bluffs where people are jumping off. Jason says that looks fun and he'd like to do it. I laughed and said "yeah right"! For 1 Jason is scared of heights and for 2 he had shoulder surgery not even a year ago, so I said if you must act like an idiot go ahead.

I understand this video is horrid. I was trying to fight the waves, wind and dodge a boat and 2 jet skies all while videoing this act of craziness. He tried and tried to get me to do it, but I have no desire to do that and I'm not scared of heights. I am however scared of snakes which lie in rocks and rocks is what you had to climb on to reach the top of the bluffs. So kuddos to Jason for being brave! Here's some pictures while riding around.

Right off the boys started cheering for Macie this morning and this is what they got in return. CUT IT OUT!

The boys were "ball boys" today, so when the balls rolled underneath the fence the boys would get them. Instead of bringing the ball to the other side of the fence Austin just throws it over the top of this fence. I've said it before and I'll say it again - that boy has a cannon of an arm. I'm not sure how tall the fence is, but it's tall for a 5 yr old. It took Eli 3 times to get it over, but he did it.

Macie started tennis camp today and was glad she did. She had a wonderful time and can't wait to go back tomorrow. Here's Austin cheering Macie on. Too sweet!!

It's early morning and Eli can't smile right cause the suns in his eyes, but he gets an A for effort. That boy has sensitive eyes.

So here's the best part of camp. Towards the end they had an obstacle course they had to complete. Before they started I asked Macie if her Cheetah spots were on and she smiles. Well she wins and gets a surprise tomorrow, which she is super stoked about. I've warned her it'll probably be something small if they even remember - but she doesn't care. A contest is a contest - a win is a win - and a surprise is a surprise.

Boat Name

Growing up my parents and their friends named their boats. They used marine radios to find one another on the lake, so they could all met up. A few months ago we bought a boat and decided to name ours.

Jason and I are convinced this name will surely jinx us and we'll have another baby. I say and name could be "Party of Five + one". Jason's name for the boat would be "Six Pack". lol

Like everything else I've ever done with the kids - I decided it's time to lose the swim floaties COLD TURKEY. Friday we went swimming at uncle g & aunt p's pool w/o swim devices and ya know what. THEY COULD FREAKIN SWIM!!! Eli seriously swam underwater like a fish. Austin swam like a rock, sorta haha..Macie was soso, but she had swim lessons last year. Nothing to brag about, though. We go over there today and it was like 3 totally different kids. All 3 kids were jumping off the diving board and swimming over to the ladder like it was nobodies business. I was so excited and totally impressed. I'm not impressed by much, so this is saying a lot. Austin started flipping off the boat last weekend a-n-d was doing it off the diving board today. I'll remind you he's 5 and a stud at that!! Eli can do one heck of a cannon ball - only problem there is he doesn't know how to bring himself back up. Macie does some little twist and turns, which makes her happy. I forgot my camera at home, so a huge thanks to Greg and his IPhone for the video coverage.

Putt-putt

Friday nite we ventured out and took the kids to play putt-putt for the first time ever. They had a blast. Eli hit the ball real well, Macie kept hitting it WAY too hard, and Austin kept wanting to swing like he does a baseball bat.

They were so amazed and confused on the last hole. They just couldn't understand W-H-Y they took your ball and W-H-E-R-E it went.

I was destined for twins

I'm just now learning that I was destined for "twins" my whole entire life. When I was a toddler I ended up with 2 honey babies, again as a young girl I had 2 cabbage patch dolls that looked the exact same, but bought at different times by 2 different people and tonight we found "twin squash". These 2 squash were stuck together, interesting I know. :0)

We Live in the Real World

We bought a boat about a week ago and last weekend was our first chance to take it to the lake. This was also Macie's first ever boat ride and the kids first time swimming in the lake. Macie was a tad apprehensive, but fell in love with the whole new experience. I don't know what the kids loved best, jumping outta the boat or going for a boat ride. Or of course driving the boat.

The kids did awesome with their life vest and the water.

Here's where the name of my post comes in. Jason's the one who came up with the catchy title. For all the parents who read this you know you can't be gone all day with kids w/o having to "poo". God bless Jason for swimming them to shore and taking care of business. I'm terrified to snakes in a ridiculous way and wouldn't have swam to shore for "NOTHING". So we live in the real world where you "poo" lol!!

Of course 30 minutes after Austin went Eli decided he had to go..And that is toilet paper on Jason's head.

After the lake papaw Richard let the kids fish one of his ponds and had a contest going for the person who caught the biggest fish. Here's Eli catching the first fish. I'm going to side track for a second. When I first saw this picture it looked like Austin, but I knew it wasn't cause from where he was standing around the pond. This an "Austin" expression. I've said before Eli looks like Austin sometimes, but Austin doesn't look like Eli - does that make sense? Anyways, hilarious expression, which is totally Eli.

I'm real big into collecting things, so I've decided to try and collect all the 50 State Quarters. We started looking through wallets and piggy banks and collected all but 12 states. Here's what we're lacking:

My dad periodically gives the kids $1 Presidential Gold Coins, which is very cool. Between all the kids here's who we don't have. Each child has $15 gold dollars :0)

Macie had her last fun day as a 1st grader the other day. I was amazed that EVERY one in Macie's class knew how to do this "Lemonade, Crunchy Ice" hand clapping game. I'd never heard it before, but it's very cute. I'll have to learn this over the summer :0) Macie has sat beside this cute, sweet girl in the picture all year long. Couldn't have asked for a nicer person.

Eli hit his 1st triple the other night.

Austin hit the game winning hit the other night as well. We won our first game! Our team really played well.

We're at the Sugar Shack with our neighbor friends right before the rain hit yesterday. This was a nice and fun after school snack. My kids love the Trantham girls. I hope they believe in arranged marriages :0)

It was lightning pretty good, so they took shelter.

Chicken legs, rose petals & bears

Tonight was the first night EVER the kids have had chicken legs. Here's the boys eating their 2nd legs from the bone.

To make sure Macie knew how special she was I put rose petals & bath beads in her bath. She absolutely loved it. I tried to video her surprise, but messed up.

Emotionally Involved

We had 4 ballgames this week counting the boys and Jason. The boys games are exhausting on all levels, and I'm just a bench warmer :0) But my boys absolutely love playin ball.

Eli plays pitcher and plays his heart out. He gets upset b/c no one listens to him when he yells "get ready". He tries his hardest to get every runner out and gets extremely discouraged when he doesn't. Poor guy has a lot to learn about the rules of baseball. He just doesn't understand with every batter comes a different scenario, but he will be an awesome player someday right along with his brother.

The Sleep Mask

Jason HAS slept with the t.v. on - for almost 11 years now and during that time I've felt like I've had a huge spot light in my eyes while trying to sleep. My sweet considerate son Austin got me the one present for Mother's Day that I have longed to have for years - A SLEEP MASK. AAaawww, it's awesome and I have to admit I have been sleeping better, but Jason begs to differ. He says since "The Mask" I repeatedly toss and turn and steal the covers, which turns into him not sleeping (maybe he will get a sleep mask for Father's Day) hehehe...So last night or in the wee hours of this morning I hear a tiny voice calling out for me - momma. I immediately think it's Macie, so I get up and run to her room only to find her soundly asleep. So of course my next thought is - the boys. So I run to their room and find them sleeping soundly, all the while Jason is trailing behind me...hehehehehehe (O boy, I just now realize how crazy we sound). Obviously I was dreaming, but I still swear it was real. I used to laugh at Jason cause he'll do that from time to time. Thinks he hears something and vvrroooommmm, off he goes in a dramatic act - now I'm acting the same way - lol!!! Point being - maybe the mask wasn't such a good idea.

Macie lost yet another tooth the other day and she was wondering "out loud" what the tooth fairy would bring her this time. She was saying the tooth fairy has left fairy dust, a letter, and of course money. The letter really puzzled and bothered everyone. The kids just couldn't figure out how and where she got the pencil and paper. They asked me and of course I've never seen the tooth fairy, so how would I know? Right?! I guess she's -magical! Then Eli, bless his soul, comes up with the smartest answer. He says the tooth fairy's wand is magic and the tip turns into a pencil. Pretty dang smart for a 5yr old...

All 3 of my children have been wonderful here lately..Macie has been working extremely hard with school work at home and recently scored really well on her DRA test at school. She's also tried her best and played awesome during her soccer games this season. The boys have started t-ball and have also done very well. My boys pay attention on the field and listen to Jason carefully on what to do. All 3 kids want to do the right thing to make us happy :0) SO......Jason and I decided to go to a restaurant that we've never been to before. It's fairly new, but not that new. Seems like everyone, but us has eaten there at least 5x's already. It's the kind of restaurant where they cook your food in front of you, so we thought the kids would really enjoy it and they did - kinda. My kids like a lot of attention from people they know, but not all that crazy about personal attention from strangers, so when the chef started throwing little pieces of egg and chicken in the air for us to catch in our mouth they got a little uncomfortable - lol I took the best picture of Eli during the lighting of the grill when huge flames shoot up, but unfortunately my camera memory was full. The fire and smoke bothered Eli's eyes.

No one caught the food but Jason. I literally had egg on my face, but I'm a good sport - I laughed. Macie and Eli warmed up and tried it, Macie and Eli are the type of children where they will try anything once and laugh and giggle regardless - but Austin is another story. He's the anti-social one of the group. To give him credit he tried once and the chef laughed and that was it - Austin was ready to go home. Didn't like his $10 meal, didn't like the chef and didn't want to stay one second longer - lol...As a more successful reward the kids helped me make Rocky Road Brownies which they loved. Sunday morning we woke up and went to pick strawberries with mamaw Patti and the kids had a blast. We couldn't stop picking. Our buckets were so full Austin was carrying strawberries in his hands (which is how we grocery shop. our buggy is overflowing and kids are loaded down-carrying bags of food - hahahaha).

1st Scrimmage

Here's the start to our very busy weekend. Macie struggled the first two quarters with tiredness. And this little girl from the other team was outstanding.

When I watch Macie play soccer she reminds me of a Cheetah. She'll get her 2nd wind and there is NO ONE that can stop her. When she gets that 2nd wind she's very determined and her speed is powerful. In these next pictures it's the last quarter-Macie already scored twice during the 3rd & 4th quarters. She's played the whole time and pretty tired. She got the ball and ran right past us. So naturally we're yelling "run Macie, run"..And remember that other girl is GOOD.

Yup your seeing it correctly - Macie out ran her. In all fairness I'm sure that little girl was tired, and she tried hard to get the ball away from Macie. I think Macie was thinking to herself "you ain't touchin this"

SCORE!!!

My battery was low on my camera, so I was trying to be conservative and missed MY CHILD, WHO IS SHY AND QUIET, burst out in a little dance. hahahaha!!! It's very unlike Macie, but I loved it.

Jason and Macie made a deal last weekend if she scored 3 goals he'd give her $5. But she only scored twice. Notice her fingers in this picture. She's counting!!!! hahhaaaaa...That's my girl - countin that money..It's collection time!!!

So before we started singing Jason asked the boys if they knew what to do (like when to blow out their candles). Yeah they knew they said. So we're singing in this picture.

There was one present Austin didn't get and I have the picture of the disappointment below. Austin wanted a truck, trailer and 2 motorcycles. He was hoping Macie or I would buy it for him. This was his sad face after opening Macie's present this morning. Later he told me he liked it. I had no idea how much this vehicle meant to him. So 8:00 tomorrow morning you know where we'll be - AT WAL-MART

Birthday Breakfast

This morning the kids wanted McDonald's after a trip to the donut shop turned out unsuccessful. I think my kids have had breakfast at McDonald's maybe a handful of times, but they said it was "the best". For my kids birthdays we always do a birthday breakfast. All 3 ordered 3 pancakes and sausage. Eli had a sausage biscuit instead of plain sausage. I have to say Macie and Austin ate all their breakfast. Where in the world does all that food go in such little bodies - lol...Of course I was taking pictures and I'm sure the people eating thought our visit was a first - lol!!!!

Only Yesterday

It feels like yesterday that I was insanely pregnant and in labor debating whether to go to the hospital or not. I remember toughing it out until 3a.m. and I'm glad I didn't wait cause these 2 cuties were coming regardless of what I thought. Today we're celebrating their 5th birthday and as I sit here writing this blog I'm wondering "how is this possible". In my mind they were this little only yesterday. It saddens me that my children are growing up, but then again I'm happy cause we're finally able to just "up and leave".

I can honestly say through their infant days Jason and I remained in a fog or our only little world so to speak. I can only remember bits and pieces..lol...But with Macie I remember everything.

I consider myself an expert by now.

I'm very proud of my boys. They are well-behaved, honest and love one another. I just hope that continues :0) I have a feeling the best is yet to come.

Balloon Rockets

One of the things the Easter bunny brought my kids were balloon rockets. I'd never heard of them before, until a lady at Wal-Mart mentioned them. I thought since my bunch likes rockets I'd give them a try. WOW!! Huge success! Only problem - it's very hard (almost impossible) to blow up a balloon that's never been blown up before..Whew - but they got easier. O and the best part - they are $1. 5 balloons to a pack.

Brave Boys!

Big day today! School physical for the boys with shots at the end. Here they are waiting for their names to be called. With Macie's school physical they asked her all kinds of questions. For example: when is your birthday, what's your address, what town do you live in, mommy and daddy's names, mommy's phone number. So I made sure the boys were prepared. They knew the answers to all these questions. Before the doctor came in Eli kept asking me "What is our address again"? haha And all the docor asked was how old will they be on their birthday's. boo!

The boys also had their fingers pricked and urine tested. First time for peeing in a cup. Austin thought that was pretty cool, but Eli said it was embarrassing. I don't think he liked the nurse looking at his urine. lol. Eli said he didn't have to go, but dang near over-flowed the cup - lol...We about had a mess! :0) We love our doctor. He's so good with the kids. He came in - tap dancing, which the boys thought was funny. After he left Eli said he thought he should be a dancer instead of a doctor. :) Then came the shots. Austin went first and did wonderful. On the last 2 shots he thought about crying, but it was over before he could think twice. Eli was scared and was clinging to me for dear life. He did not want to lay on the table, but he never cried or flinched. He did awesome as well! Then off to Braum's as promised. Eli ended up with Birthday Cake ice cream and Austin picked Orange Sorbet.

About half way thru the ice cream Austin didn't want his anymore, so Eli gave the rest of his to Austin.

So we ended up with 2 boys with blue faces. Next stop Chick-fil-a.

School Shots

It literally seems like yesterday when the boys were born. And today I have to lead them to "the slaughter" so to speak - SCHOOL SHOTS. I've been up front with them, so they know where we're going and what to expect. I honestly think they will be fine. Macie is my "scared to death" of needles child. They were saying tonight that they were scared for tomorrow and didn't want to go to school. It was cute listening to Macie tell them all about school and how fun it is. I think the best part for them will be lunch and snack - lol..I asked who was going first and neither would say - so since Austin is the oldest "by a minute" I chose him to go first. But Braum's afterwards so Eli can get his "grape" ice cream (I know there is no grape).

The Post of Eli

Since I'm freaky weird about germs my kids never go near Santa or the Easter Bunny at the mall. We just smile, wave friendly hellos and keep walking..lol Now I say "never", but I think Macie has sat on the mall Santa's lap once and that was enough for me. Anyways, this week we saw the Easter Bunny at the mall and did our usual routine as we walked by. Today in the car Eli says:
Eli: I have a question
Me: Yes
Eli: Is the Easter Bunny real?
Jason: Of course he's real
Eli: Wweeeeelllll - he looked kinda fake to me

He Used To Be Little

Almost one year ago this little guy was preparing for his 1st b-day (well he wasn't but his momma & grandma were) :0) And another year has come and gone.

And he's grown so much during the year. Your a big boy now, Blake! I wished I had his dads baby pictures. Those two are damn near identical :0) Hey Bev post one on your blog will ya?

I love this picture! He did so good tonight. Doesn't get much cuter than this.

Griswold's Go To the Big D

About a month ago a deal was made between Jason and Macie that part of her birthday present would be visiting the American Girl store in Dallas. So that day was yesterday. We'd had this weekend in mind for a few weeks and was kinda hoping for yucky weather back home, so we wouldn't waste a perfectly warm weekend in the car. Be careful what ya wish for. Half way to Dallas it started sleeting and Jason wanted to turn back but I disagreed. I said it was 70 Friday how could anything possibly stick? (I'm going to answer that question in a bit) Anyway after doing our usual "thing" in a big city we finally find the AG store and it was by shear luck. O BTW whoever invented the U-TURN lanes is a freaking GENIUS!!! THANK YOU!!! I used them about 3x's in a matter of 5 minutes. Macie was beyond excited as soon as she saw the AG store. Here's Macie getting Lanie who is the American Girl Doll of the Year (2010). She also got Lanie's matching outfit and a bathing

suit set for Lanie.

The dolls had their own beauticians. I'm assuming they fix the dolls hair however you wish. We did not do that.

For dinner we decided to eat at a known Mexican food chain. We'd eaten at one before in Dallas and liked it. This time it was horrid! No one ate their meal except Eli. Jason took a bite of Macie's taco and had to spit it out - hahahaaaaa. Sunday morning we hit a Dunkin' Donuts which we'd never ate before. As you can see - HUGE HIT! Our best meal yet. Jason couldn't wait to get home so this was 6am in the morning.

I told Jason the next time we go to a big city we're wearing t-shirts that say "hillbillies from Arkansas". lol. We are terrible travelers. We always pick the worst places to stay and eat. The boys did not do well at the mall, but man was it a mall. The biggest one I've ever been too. As usual Dallas chewed us up and spit us out. So back to the weather. It was supposed to snow but not stick says the weatherman. When we left Dallas it wasn't bad. But soon discovered the overpasses hundreds of feet in the air, zigzagging all over Dallas were - ICY!! Thankfully the traffic wasn't bad at 7am. If your needing to make a getaway-7am on Sunday morning is the time to do it. I bet we saw 200 cars in the ditch. The roads in Texas were worse than Oklahoma and Arkansas combined and ya know what? We never once saw sand trucks or road crews in Texas. We could only drive 30mph so it took us 3 hours to get outta Texas (and we weren't even in the heart of Dallas). I have no clue where we are here - Richardson maybe. In this picture see the small poles in the median. Those poles are connect by like cable wire or something. We soon found out if your car tries to run though the wire it'll slice through your car like a warm knife in butter.

We saw this getting off the exit in Roland. He slid off the interstate.

My kids were amazing the whole trip. They were so ready to get outta the car. And no one vomited, which is a huge plus. We took a barf bucket in case, though. It took us 6 1/2 hours to get home. This is what we heard as we pulled into our neighborhood.

Saturday night we all gathered for the Upward Celebration Ceremony. The celebration was in honor of all the basketball players and cheerleaders in the Upward leagues this year. The video below is Macie being announced. That's Eli and I you hear cheering. Of course Austin wasn't impressed and wanted to go home (sound familiar)

I'll be honest, I really didn't know what to expect. I was thinking this celebration was going to be more along the lines of church, but wasn't for sure. This was our first time with Upward. The entertainment was an Illusionist named Jared Hall. Let me just say he was phenomenal!! He had us laughing our heads off and the kids were going W-I-L-D!!!

I'm so glad we became apart of this organization. It exceeded all our expectations and the celebration was awesome. As a gift from the organization every child received a basketball goal that fits on the back of a door with a small rubber inflatable basketball. Our basketball goal is on the boys bathroom door and is a HUGE hit at our house.
